Core Principles for Maintenance and Installation of Construction R&P Lifts

Course Description

Upon completing this course, the delegate will be:

• Aware of relevant local Regulations, Standards and guidance relating to materials and passenger/goods hoists and transport platforms(TP)
• Aware of hazards relating to maintenance and installation activities
• Capable of understanding method statements and hoist drawings, including stand-off measurements from structures, landing measurements and tie configurations and distances
• Aware of, and able to use the correct emergency procedures
• Capable of extracting and following information from the Maintenance and Installation Manuals
• Capable of completing preventative maintenance on a hoist/TP
• Capable of completing required documentation for maintenance
• Capable of erecting mast, installing limit plates/cams, installing mast ties, installing “V-pipe”, installing landing gates
• Capable of programming landings on the ALC
• Capable of completing zero calibration on the OSD
• Capable of completing a “drop-test”
